Beginners can help design Floriade.(Capital Region)

ALBANY - Attention flower enthusiasts: The Washington Park Conservancy is now accepting applications for its second annual Floriade.

The Floriade - Dutch for flower festival - is an offshoot of the 58th annual Albany Tulip Festival, which will be held May 12-13. The floriade allows participants to submit a concept design for a flower bed. Applicants must enter a detailed design layout.

The deadline for entries has been left open-ended to encourage interested parties to participate.

Participants will be assigned beds in a variety of sizes and locations in Washington Park. Installations …
