Fed: Trickle down promise from nursing study

BRISBANE, Feb 23 AAP - Drips that deliver nutrition and medication to critically ill
patients may not need to be changed so often, a researcher said today.
A study in the intensive care unit at Royal Brisbane Hospital is being conducted to
compare the infection rate of patients whose drips are changed weekly compared to twice
a week.
After testing 400 drips, research coordinator and clinical nurse Claire Rickard has
a preliminary finding that there is no difference between the two groups.
